Corporate Social Responsibility

This Corporate Social Responsibility (hereinafter referred to as 'CSR') Policy is framed based on the provisions of the Companies Act, 2013 (‘the Act’) read with the Companies (Corporate Social Responsibility Policy) Rules, 2014 ('the CSR Rules'), as amended from time to time.

I. INTRODUCTION

Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers Private Limited is committed to doing business with integrity and respect for the surrounding in which it works. Your Company has regularly been participating financially and otherwise in social upliftment and welfare activities such as promoting education and health care. CSR has always been a part of Company’s conscience and our way of working. It is our mission to contribute to the society as part of our social responsibility.

As an essential part of our commitment to corporate citizenship we at Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers Private Limited believe in actively assisting in improvement of the quality of life of people in communities. Towards achieving long-term stakeholder value creation, we shall always continue to respect the interests of and be responsive towards our key stakeholders - the communities, especially those from socially and economically backward groups, the underprivileged ones.

II. OBJECTIVE

Our mission is to contribute to the society as part of our corporate social responsibility. We understand the mutual interdependence between our business and the economic, social and human environment that surround us. Towards achieving long-term stakeholder value creation, we shall always continue to respect the interests of and be responsive towards our key stakeholders - the communities, especially those from socially and economically backward groups, the underprivileged ones. 

The main objective of the CSR policy is to take up programmes that benefit the communities, enhance the quality of life of the people, promote education, alleviate hunger, poverty and malnutrition, women empowerment, help the senior citizens and to promote healthcare including preventive healthcare.

III. DEFINITIONS

In this policy, unless the context otherwise requires:-

1. “Act” means the Companies Act, 2013.
2. "Company" means Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers Private Limited.
3. “Committee” refers to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Committee of the Company as referred to in Section 135 of the Act.

IV. CSR ACTIVITIES

The Company’s CSR activities shall primarily include one or more of the items covered under Schedule VII of the Act as detailed below:-

1. Eradicating hunger, poverty and malnutrition, promoting healthcare including preventive healthcare and sanitation and making available safe drinking water;
2. Promoting education, including special education and employment enhancing vocation skills especially among children, women, elderly and the differently abled and livelihood enhancement projects;
3. Promoting gender equality, empowering women, setting up homes and hostels for women and orphans, setting up old age homes, day care centers and such other facilities for senior citizens and measures for reducing inequalities faced by the socially and economically backward groups;
4. Ensuring environmental sustainability, ecological balance, protection of flora and fauna, animal welfare, agro-forestry, conservation of natural resources and maintaining quality of soil, air and water;
5. Training to promote rural sports, nationality recognized sports, Paralympics sports and Olympics sports;
6. Contribution to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund or any other fund set up by the Central Government for social-economic development and relief and welfare of the Schedule Castes, the Schedule Tribes, other backward classes, minorities and women;
7. Contribution or funds provided to technology incubators located within academic institutions which are approved by the Central Government;
8. Rural development projects.
9. Slum area development.
10. Disaster management, including relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction activities.

This Policy will be reviewed by the Board, on the recommendation of the CSR Committee, as and when deemed necessary.
