Shyam Sundar Co Jewellers proudly celebrated the first anniversary of Bela Saha Smriti Vidya Mandir on 1st March 2026. The celebration coincided with the 81st birth anniversary of Late Bela Saha, whose deep belief in the power of education continues to inspire the initiative.
The event began with the release of pigeons and the unfurling of the school flag. A voluntary blood donation camp was organised, with strong participation from the local community.
Students and teachers received new uniforms and gift hampers, followed by cultural performances that added joy and warmth to the occasion.
The event was graced by Shri M. L. Lohia, Chairman of Jupiter Wagons Ltd and President of East Bengal Club, along with other distinguished guests. The programme concluded with a community lunch, reflecting the spirit of togetherness and the shared commitment to education and social upliftment.
Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers Celebrates National Flag Day
Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers celebrated National Flag Day on 22nd July at Bela Saha Smriti Vidya Mandir in the Sundarbans, a school adopted by the brand.
The event featured a session on the national flag's educative session on the significance and symbolism of the national flag.
Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers' presented a cheque of ₹ 5,50,000/- to the school managing committee for overall development of the school / - along with study material and an umbrella for every student.
Sudarshan Chakraborty, Tapan Pattanayak, and Rupak Saha graced the occasion.
The day ended with pride and celebration, honouring the spirit of the tricolour of our Indian Flag.
Bela Saha Smriti Vidya Mandir
- A New Beginning
'Bela Saha Smriti Vidya Mandir', a primary school in a remote corner of the Sundarbans area, opened its doors - under this new name - on Monday, 3rd January.
'Bela Saha Smriti Vidya Mandir', a CSR initiative of Shyam Sundar Co Jewellers, is named after a person who - in her lifetime - was driven by the power of knowledge and continues to inspire a legion of followers - people whose lives she had touched - to keep furthering that cause.
And the inauguration of the school, timed with Saraswati Puja this year, began with a 'pushpanjali' to the Goddess of learning to seek her blessings for the new beginning and its journey thereafter.
The programme of the day included the release of a flight of pigeons and unfurling of the school flag.
Swami Suparnananda Ji Maharaj, Secretary, Institute of Culture, Ramakrishna Mission, Golpark, Kolkata graced the occasion as inaugurator of the Bela Saha Smriti Vidya Mandir.
Mr M L Lohia, Chairman, Jupiter Wagons Ltd and President, East Bengal Club, graced the occasion as Chief Guest.
